Swim School

Following the Swim & Survive program, our approach is two prong-water safety & stroke development. Our student's success is driven by our qualified instructors that focus on providing an environment that enables students to fulfil their swimming potential.

Skills and knowledge learnt in the Swim and Survive program offers a level of protection and aims to provide children with solid foundation skills in swimming, survival and basic rescue skills. Our swimming lessons attract students from all around the Moonee Valley region.

 

Wonder

Wonder is the water familiarisation component of the Swim and Survive program, designed specifically for children aged 6 to 36 months. 
Wonder is a child-centred program which is taught with parent or carer and child together in the water. It uses songs, games and activities to teach children a variety of skills including:

  • Getting Wet
  • Breathing
  • Kicking and arm movements
  • Water safety and parent education
  • Keeping balance
  • Floating

 

Courage

Courage is the water confidence component of the Swim and Survive program, and is designed for children aged 3 to 5 years. 
Courage is fundamental to the development of basic foundation skills in swimming, survival and water safety, as is a positive attitude towards learning these essential skills. Courage seeks to build water confidence and develop skills across the following strands:

  • Entries and Exits
  • Breathing and underwater skills
  • Floating and sculling
  • Survival skills
  • Movement and swimming strokes
  • Water safety education
  • Underwater skills

 

Active

Active is the Swimming and Water Safety component of the Swim and Survive program, and is designed for children aged 5 - 14 years. Active is not only used to emphasise that skills learnt in the program not only save lives but provide a foundation for participation in a range of aquatic recreation, fitness and sporting activities. The active program develops the following skills:

  • Entries and exits
  • Underwater skills
  • Rescue skills
  • Movement and swimming strokes
  • Floating and sculling
  • Survival and PDF (Personal Floatation Device) skills
  • Water Safety Knowledge
  • Stroke correction

 

Adult

Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced adult swimmer we also run courses that cater for you! Our professional and friendly instructors aim to help you achieve all your swimming goals!
